This is Blossom Namaste Knox.
She’s gone from living on the muck-ridden streets of Bangkok to the magic-filled valley of Ojai.
By sharing the story of how Blossom,, came into my life, I hope to help you manifest whatever you’re longing for in your life.
A little back story:
Before Blossom, the only dog I ever had was Lucky, our beloved Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, for 15 precious years.
When Lucky passed a year and a half ago, my husband Will and I couldn’t imagine loving another.
But after months of grieving, I felt a deep longing for what I can only describe “The Dog Of My Heart.” (It was bigger than both of us, so Will lovingly gave in.)
Where Oh Where Could My Little Dog Be?
At first, I thought we’d get another Cavalier: a black and white little girl (to be different from Lucky Boy who was brown and white).
But all my dog-loving friends convinced me to look for a rescue. And it was nearly impossible to find a healthy Cavalier rescue.
So, I widened the net and took their advice to search Petfinder online.
All those furry little faces overwhelmed me, And depressed me. Out of hundreds, none of them felt like “My Dog.”
I searched for days. And even drove a 3-hour round trip to meet a dog my friend had found for me.
But again, I felt no connection. And sobbed the whole way home, missing Lucky and afraid I was barking up the wrong tree wth this whole rescue thing.
Looking for love in all the wrong places.
Instead of desperately looking for “my dog” in the outside world, I decided it was time to look within (where our dreams manifest from).
I lit a candle, took a deep breath and asked (the Divine, the Universe, Whoever Was Listening): “Please send me my Soulmate Dog with ease, grace and joy.”
I imagined feeling a soul connection with a sweet, calm, wise an happy dog who’d be chill enough to curl up next to me while I work. And independent enough to explore the backyard.
And then, the craziest thing happened.
One day, while working at my desk, these words random flew into my mind:
“You’re going to rescue a little girl dog named Blossom.”
I’m not exactly sure where that came from (our angel dog Lucky? My Higher Self?)
All I know is it made me smile, recalling my grandmother’s best friend, Blossom and those big flowery hats she used to wear.
Months passed and then out of nowhere, I got the strongest urge to try my luck on Petfinder again.
Well, this time, I found myself face-to-face with a shaggy white poodle/terrier mix named “Daisy.”
Besides the fact that “Daisy” and “Blossom”are eerily close names, there was something about her face that just spoke to my heart.
The next morning, I drove an hour to Life Animal Rescue, an organization begun by a mother and daughter 25 years ago.
En route, I prayed: “Please give me a clear sign if this is My Dog.”
Boy, did I get a sign.
I met “Daisy” in an outdoor pavilion. Quietly, I sat on the grass and watched her frolic freely, a million miles away from her street life in Thailand.
Suddenly, “Daisy” stopped frolicking, walked right over to me, looked me straight in the eyes and kissed me on the lips.
Well, that was it.

Our new Muck To Magic Mascot
The next thing I knew, I was signing papers inside.
I almost passed out when Laurie, the “rescue mom” said “Daisy just got off the plane four days ago, and I can’t believe how much she’s blossomed.“
With that, I changed her name.
And the rest, as they say, is history. (Or as I like to say, Mystery.)
The morals of this story:
♥Dare to ask. As “nice girls,” we were raised to be glad for whatever we were given. But I believe when we get clear on what we truly desire and find the courage to ask for it, the universe conspires on our behalf. (In the most unexpected ways.)
♥Let go of the form. Blossom didn’t look at all like the dog I pictured. (A scruffy Thai street dog versus he King Charles pedigree picture in my head.) I had to break out of my mental box to find my heart’s desire.
♥Imagine the feeling. When I let go of the details and tuned into what it would feel like to be with my soulmate dog, it created space for the universe to bring on its magic.
Of course, we still need to take action.
But when we water our dreams from the inside out, they grow in ways far beyond what our mere mortal minds could ever think up.
So, what would you like to have blossom, in your life?
Feel free to ASK FOR IT in the comment section below.
By naming and claiming your heart’s desire, you’ll be taking a powerful step toward making it real.
And all of us who read it can add our love and support to help it blossom.

Thank you, Barbi. It’s a reminder for all of us of the magic that grow out of that in the midst of all the muck in the world, we can co-create magic. I love you and really appreciate you reaching out. xoxo
Barbie, thank you for this. You inspired me to see if there are some doggie blogs to share this story with. I hope her story reminds others of the magic that still exists in this mucked up world! I love you xoxo

Look into those eyes..you can see deep mysteries, and a lot of love..i recently got a rescue dog because of looking at her eyes on pet finders..so happy for you..exactly like you said,we were looking for another small breed similar to what we had lost..instead she will be pretty big. 🙂 more to love i guess..i would like to manifest a steady supply of more abundance(money) more happiness ,even..not sure those are things, but i am greatful for all i have, and i have everything i need
Thank you Wendi
Dear Wanira…so happy that we share a Petfinder love connection! As for the manifesting….what has worked for me in the abundance department is imagining myself with money raining down on me….having so much that I take baths in it, that I pass out heaps of it to everyone I know….imagining the joy and ease and freedom of that. I used to always get freelance calls when I did that….I’m reminding myself to do it again. Thanks for reaching out and let me know how it goes….xoxo
Well said . Passing this on to my friend. Who just lost my friend Cody after 14 years . One year ago I lost my best friend Archie .
Dear Laurie…it’s so hard letting go of these precious ones. But this story about Blossom gives us hope that new dreams and heart connections can manifest like magic. xoxo
Dear Wendi: This story touched me on so many different levels! First, I am a volunteer at LIFE Animal Rescue and though I didn’t spend a lot of time with Daisy/Blossom, I most certainly remember her and I am so very happy that she has found the perfect home with you as clearly you and she were on a path to meet and to bring magic and joy to each other. Secondly, I have rarely come across people who speak as I do in that I never reference “God” (as I do not believe in a Christian God), but I always speak of how the Universe moves, sees, listens, and teaches us in ways I cannot understand, but which I often must remind myself to trust in. Thank you for sharing the wonderful lessons in this journey to let another pup into your heart. It has been a perfect reminder for me.
Dear Jami,
I am so happy to hear from you. And that Blossom and my story is a reminder for you to trust. Even though I have lived it, I, too need the reminder. I do believe Blossom is my spiritual teacher…and that we are both here to help heal the trauma of the past and create space for the miracles of the present. I don’t know if you’ve had a chance to read my dragonfly story on my website….but that, too, has an uplifting message of the magic that is sometimes hidden in the muck. Thank you for reaching out, Jami. I share what “the universe” urges me to share. And I am always moved to hear how it lands. With gratitude, Wendi
Dear Wendi: I will be sure to check out your Dragonfly story. Interestingly, I have a dragonfly tattoo……the Universe continues to speak!
Jami….we are, evidently, flying in the same magical circles.
When we got our most recent rescue kittnes 12 yrs ago, I was so overwhelmed with love for them. I remember picking one of them up saying, “oh, I just couldn’t love you any more than I do in this moment; oops, now I do!”
Animals are SO phenomenal and bless our lives in countless ways. Much love to you and your beloved “Blossom” (just found your website on Maria Shriver’s newsletter).
Thank you for finding me, Andie. I know exactly what you mean. There is no limit to that kind of unconditional love, is there?
