Today is my 68th Birthday.
I grew up in a time when a “lady” never told her age. But since I’m not all that lady-like, here I am, telling you and the rest of the world.
I’m choosing to own my age. But not be defined by it.
So, I’m proclaiming this “My Year of Audacity.” Challenging myself to do things that light me up. And make me a little nervous.
Like this video, for instance. Today is my 68th Birthday.
It’s my way of Breaking Out of the Age Cage.
I’m on a mission to free myself (and everyone else) from the limited beliefs and preconceived notions of what this or that number means.
What if, instead of becoming less of What We Were, we were growing into more of Who We Are?
And what if, instead of dreading our Birthdays, we celebrated our WorthDays?
I believe it’s time we changed our stories about aging.
The story I want to live is to age joyfully. Colorfully. And magically.
And what about you?
I can’t think of a better birthday gift than hearing what you think about all this. What do you want your aging story to be? Please tell us below. (When one of us shares our truth, it sets us all free.)
Btw, I’ll be sharing more from “My Year of Audacity ” in the coming months. I hope you’ll join me in rising up from the muck of old stories into the magic of new possibilities. >i<
With wings of love and gratitude,
Happy Birthday Wendy! Another year to maximize your experiences. I choose to be a perennial rather than a senior. I just keep reinventing myself. And, fyi, 68 does not sound old to me – that’s ageist! I just am. A day at a time, doing what feels good at each moment, trying to make the best choices available. And to keep recreating myself as the person I am becoming, rather than who I was. Each year is a gift, and I love gifts. Enjoy yours to the fullest.
I think you are on the right track..i love your ideas and yes,you are looking younger and younger on the outside too..❣
